Kailash Trip Overview
Ravel Roads crew will embark on a pilgrimage with you to the holy land of Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar for sixteen days, starting from Lhasa.
The tour starts off with exploring and making our way to Holy Mount Kailash. We explore the Holy Mount Kailash and the sacred surroundings. Some major sites we visit during this tour are Mount Kailash, Lake Mansarovar, Rakshasa Taal, Milarepa Caves, and more.
This spiritual journey promises a transformative experience amid ancient traditions and breathtaking landscapes.

We will receive you at the airport/ train station upon your arrival in Beijing, and drive you to the hotel. Overnight at the Beijing hotel. Meals: D

Today we will visit to the Great Wall of China, and visit some of the must visit places in Beijing (Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City , Temple of Heaven). After completing our sightseeing, we will return back to our hotel and overnight. Meals: B, L, D

We will drive to Beijing Airport and take a flight to Lhasa. We will receive you at the airport upon your arrival in Tibet and drive you to the hotel. The rest of today, go slowly so that you can acclimate to the altitude more quickly. For the lengthy trip ahead, keep in mind to drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. Meals: B, L, D

Morning breakfast at the hotel, and we will visit the capital city of Tibet, Potala Palace. We will visit the Potala Palace, approx. 3 hours in the old Palace Residence in the heart of the city. We will then head onwards to Barkhor Street, then visit the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. Explore around the place, and back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Lhasa. You will explore the Jokhang, the holiest Buddhist temple in the Himalaya’s. Founded nearly 1400 years ago, Jokhang Temple houses the most sacred statue of Buddha. You will work your way through this fascinating temple alongside Buddhist pilgrims from the faraway regions of Tibet. The sound of pilgrims chanting mantras fills the air as does the smell of yak butter candle offerings. In the afternoon, you will go to the 600-year-old Sera, one of Tibet’s largest Buddhist monasteries. Each weekday afternoon starting at 3pm, monks engage in Buddhist philosophy debates, which are fun to photograph. Altitude: 3656m Meals: B, L, D Distance: Around Lhasa City

Our route passes via Gyatse to Shigatse, the capital of the Tsang region, home to the Panchen Lama, the second pope in Tibet. Excursion to the Tashilhunpo monastery (founded in 1447) early in the morning, stopping at the temple of Maitreya, the Buddha of the Future, as well as other monastic temples. We will stop over at the Yamdrok Lake for a nice view of the gigantic freshwater lake. Hotel overnight stay. Meals: B, L, D

Leave Shigatse after your breakfast and drive to Lhatse. It is a small town where you can take lunch. Further drive to Shegar. If the weather is clear enough then on the way down to shegar you will view the Mt, Everest from a distance. After 4 to 6 hours then you will arrive at Rongbuk monastery through pang la pass (5050m) from that pass you will get a sight of all the five highest peaks in the world. Meals: B, L, D

Early in the morning, drive to the Everest base Camp from Ronbuk Monastery. You can see the sunrise appearing on the top of Mt Everest, and have a full view the magnificent Mt. Everest standing like a snow-capped pyramid. After visiting base camp, drive back to Shigatse. Your route today will take you across beautiful, over 5000-meter-high passes. You are kept busy by various activities, such as lakes and nomads pursuing tens of thousands of yaks and sheep, while you drive across Tibet's mountainous and sandy terrain. By late afternoon, you will have crossed the Bramha Putra River and be at the characteristic Tibetan and Chinese town of Saga for the evening. Meals: B, L, D

After our breakfast at Saga, we will be driving to the highest freshwater lake in the world, the holy Mansarovar Lake, lying at an altitude of 4558 meters, stretching wide with a pristine greenish-blue color. The holy lake is believed to be the resting place of Lord Bishnu. It is surrounded by Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakshasha (Rakshash Taal). The Rakshash Taal is believed to be created by the Evil King Ravan, and the locals believe the water is poisonous. Overnight at a guest house around Lake Mansarovar. Altitude: 4558m Meals: B, L, D

We will get into our spiritual selves and perform some rituals (puja) at the bank of the holy lake mansarovar. Our staff will provide a bucket of hot holy water for each yatri from lake Mansarovar for bathing. After our puja and prayers, we will complete the Parikrama of the Mansarovar Lake on a Jeep, and continue to the base camp of Kailash, Darchen. It is a village town right in front of the sacred Mt. Kailash. Overnight at a hotel. Altitude: 4575m Meals: B, L, D Distance: 110km – 2 hours (Mansarovar Parikrama) 40km – 1 hour (Mansarovar to Darchen)

We will embark on a three – day parikrama. We first drive to the small settlement of Tarboche, also called Darboche. It is the starting point of the Kailash Kora and is also known as the Valley of Gods. Yamadwar, the gatewat of the God of Death, is located here in Tarboche. We will walk for a few hours to arrive at the settlement of Derapuk, settling right in front of the North Face of Mt. Kailash. Overnight and rest at a guest house. Altitude: 4900m Meals: B, L, D Distance: 7km – 0.5 hours (Darchen to Tarboche Valley) 14km – 8hours (Yamodhar to Drirapuk)

Among the three days of Kora, today is the longest and the most difficult day. We will be heading towards the village of Jarok Donkhang first, and hike towards the Shiva-stal. We will rest for some time and take a steep downhill and get to the banks of Lham-chu Khir river. We catch sight of the Holy Pond of ‘Gaurikunda’. We reach the village of Juthulpuk, this place is named after. The famous cave of Juthulpuk, Zruthulpuk cave, also known as ‘the miracle cave’. We will also catch sight of the Buddha’s Footprints along the way. Overnight at a guest house. Altitude: 5650m Meals: B, L, D Distance: 22km – 10/12 hours (Dirapuk to Juthulpuk)

We will spend the morning touring the nearby Milarepa cave's caves and temples. After breakfast, we will climb for three to four hours around 7-km to finish our Kora and return to the Darchen settlement. We'll eat there for lunch before heading back to Saga. Hotel overnight stay. Altitude: 4640m Meals: B, L, D Distance: 500km – 10 hours

We will take a nice ride on paved Tibetan roads back to the settlement of Kerung, which is at the border between Nepal and Tibet. After formalities, we will hike to Ghattekhola, where the helicopters will be waiting for us. We will get on the 15 minutes helicopter flight to Kathmandu, rest, and souvenir shopping, farewell and overnight at hotel. Start your day with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here, you can observe the temple’s unique architecture, and the rituals performed by Hindu devotees and also, we will visit Guheshwori Shaktipeetham. Afterwards visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in Nepal, where you can witness Tibetan monks and pilgrims circumambulating the stupa and spinning prayer wheels. We will then visit Jalnarayan where you can witness the statue of sleeping Bishnu. Next, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can explore ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples that showcase the rich history and culture of Nepal. From there, proceed to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, for breathtaking views of the Kathmandu Valley. In the evening, visit the Kumari Temple and Hanuman Dhoka, adding to your understanding of Kathmandu's cultural heritage. Overnight at Kathmandu. Mukthinath Trip Over View As an extension of this divine journey, pilgrims have the rare opportunity to continue to Muktinath, one of the 108 Divya Desams and a sacred place of liberation situated amidst the majestic Himalayas. Worship Lord Vishnu as Sri Mukti Narayana and take the holy bath under the 108 waterspouts, symbolizing purification and release from the cycle of rebirth. Visit Kali Gandaki River. This unique yatra brings together the blessings of both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, offering a spiritually complete experience — from Pashupatinath eternal Shiva energy to Muktinath divine salvation

After breakfast we fly from Kathmandu to Pokara and reaching Pokara we drive to Mukthinath via Jomsom on the way we halt at Gandagi river and visit Mukthinath. of Kali Gandaki River. It is the gateway to be used for Muktinath temple. The crystal-clear cold water of Kali Gandaki makes the land more beautiful. It is the source of Shaligram Shila stones which are worshiped all across as the form of Lord Vishnu. We will continue to drive to Muktinath. Muktinath Temple is believed to be a place where Lord Vishnu got salvation from Brinda (wife of Jalandhar). The main shrine is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that one washes away all the pain and sins if they take shower in holy water coming from 108 sprouts just behind the temple. Another major attraction would be two ponds in front of the temple where people take a plunge into. Apart from these temple sites, one can enjoy the dramatic landscape of the valley surrounded by mountains. Night halt at Mukthinath Altitude: Jomsom- 2743m, Muktinath-3710m

Have a second Dharshan of Mukthinath temple and drive to Pokara . On the way lunch. Sightseeing of Devi’s fall (A famous waterfall ), Gupteshwor Mahadev cave and Bindabasini Temple. Night halt at Pokara.

After breakfast drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu via Manakamna Devi Temple. Manakamna Temple is believed as goddess Bhagawati. Which is also believe as fluffiness goddess. Situated in the Gorkha district and on the way to Pokhara. There is a well-managed cable car to reach and back from Manakamana Temple. Reach Kathmandu. Evening if time permits Pashupathinath Aarathi. Night halt at Kathmandu.
